On my last trip to Hawaii, my family and I went to Kona and ate at Big Island Grill. The food was delicious, but what I loved the most was the “Kona Pie”. Kona Pie is rich creamy mocha almond fudge ice cream piled high on an Oreo cookie crust, topped with fresh homemade whipped cream, hot fudge, and macadamia nuts! Yum! We went back several times to this restaurant just for the Kona Pie! Since I have been home, my husband and I have had cravings for Kona Pie many times. I knew this would have to be my next dessert for my blog. Since there is no recipe from the Big Island Grill, I made my own. It is super easy with only 3 ingredients! The BEST Old Fashioned Custard Pie
My husband grew up on the Big Island and over there they have a Thanksgiving tradition of eating Custard Pie along with the traditional pumpkin pie and apple pie. I have been a California girl all my life and have yet to see, let alone try a custard pie!
